Sivuyile Manxoyi
Manxoyi currently serves as the Education and Communication Officer at the South African Astronomical Observatory, where he is involved in the SALT Collateral Benefits Program. With a background in teaching, his work now centers on science communication, education, and outreach initiatives aimed at helping to transform historically underserved communities in South Africa. His approach to science education was shaped in part by a visit to the United States to take part in the Wisconsin Teacher Enhancement Program at UW–Madison, an experience he found inspiring and professionally influential.

South Africa leverages world-class facilities like SALT, MeerKAT, and HESS to provide the technical backbone for regional scientific growth and coordination. The global OAD office in Cape Town coordinates directly with SAROAD to implement IAU goals, while academic partners like Sol Plaatje University host hands-on Astrolab workshops. Furthermore, the SAAO Visitor Centre, IDIA, and the Iziko Planetarium serve as vital hubs for outreach and data science training to build high-tech human capital
