Dinelsa Machaieie
Dinelsa Machaieie is an astrophysicist and educator serving as a team member of the National Astronomy Education Committee (NAEC) in Mozambique and Auxiliary Professor at the Physics Department of Eduardo Mondlane University.
She holds an Honours and Master’s degree in Physics, followed by a PhD in Astrophysics. Her research interests span Physics Education, Star Formation and Evolution, and Astrobiology—bridging the study of cosmic origins with the quest to understand life’s place in the universe.
In her current role as Auxiliary Professor at Eduardo Mondlane University, Dinelsa teaches courses in Quantum Mechanics, Solid State Physics, and Research Techniques in Education, shaping the next generation of Mozambican physicists while advancing pedagogical approaches to science education.

Mozambique is an active SAROAD country node and SKA partner country focused on building high-tech capacity. Key highlights include:
• Strategic Training: A core partner in the DARA project, providing youth with skills in radio interferometry, signal processing, big data analysis, and Python.
• Regional Collaboration: One of the original supporters of the SAROAD regional office, focusing on mobilizing human and financial resources for astronomy development.
• Human Capital: Participates in regional networks (AIMS, NASSP, PAPSSN) to grow the expertise needed for a self-sustaining local space secto
